There is nothing like a chocolate treat to make everything seem much brighter. Here are three recipes that are easy to do, are delicious and full of chocolate!
You need a couple of baking trays, I line mine with grease proof paper. Preheat oven to 180c/160c fan/gas 4.
Break up 7ozs plain chocolate & put in a heatproof bowl with 2ozs marg. Microwave for 2 mins. Then stir in one 14oz can of condensed milk.
Let the mixture cool for a little while.
Mix 8ozs of flour (self-raising is best) and about 3 ozs of chocolate buttons, these can be milk or white chocolate.
Stir the flour/buttons mix into the cooled chocolate mix and put in fridge for about 10 minutes. When cooled put spoonfuls of the mixture onto the baking sheets and put into the pre-heated oven. Cook for about 10-15 mins. Do not overcook them.
When cooked, place them on a cooling rack and then enjoy!
I use the best British chocolate for this recipe. I buy british chocolate from Jolly Goods (www.jollygoods.co) - they are able to supply both milk and white chocolate buttons.
This recipe is very easy to do. No oven is needed. Again prepare a baking tray - one will do.
Put 125g of marg, 3tbsp of syrup and 300g of good quality chocolate ( you can do a mix of milk and dark chocolate if you want to) into a heavy based saucepan and heat. Make sure you melt it very slowly and be careful of sticking.
Whilst the chocolate mix is melting put 200g of digestive biscuits into a large freezer bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
When crushed fold them carefully into the melted chocolate mix, stirring well.
Then add about 75g of mini marshmallows to the mix. I also add a mixture of chocolate treats such as smarties, chocolate buttons,Maltesers, whatever you like. You can even cut up Mars bars, milky ways etc and add a few bits of those.
When everything is mixed well, transfer to your baking tray and put in the fridge for about 30 minutes. When cool you can always drizzle a little chocolate over the top or sprinkle with icing sugar. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Chocolate Crunchie Treats
Line your baking tray as before. No oven is needed again.
Put 100g of marg, 25g of soft brown sugar, 2tbs Cocoa powder and 4tbs of syrup into a pan and melt very gently until all combined.
Put 200g of digestive biscuits and 8 Crunchie bars into a freezer bag and crush with a rolling pin until you have rough pieces.
Put the crushed biscuits/crunchies into the melted mix and stir well.
Transfer to baking tray and smooth down and then chill in fridge for 30 minutes.
Finally melt 400g of good quality British chocolate in a pan. When melted pour over the chilled tray of biscuit/Crunchie mix. Put back into fridge until completely firm. Cut into squares and enjoy!
It is best to use good quality British chocolate for all these recipes.
